Discuss	Provide a detailed description of the situation or process. Opinions and conclusions should be presented clearly and be supported by appropriate evidence.
Describe	Give a detailed account or picture of a situation, event, pattern, or process.
Explain	Give a detailed response as to how/why something is the way it is.
Evaluate	Make an appraisal by weighing up the strengths and limitations.
Identify	Provide an answer from a number of possibilities. Recognise and state briefly a distinguishing fact or feature.
Outline	Give a brief account or summary.
State	Identify or name the main point.

The topic sentence is a sentence that is used at the beginning of a paragraph to tell the reader what it is that you are going to be talking about in that paragraph.
